The concert was so good, probably the best I have been to. We were on such a high afterwards. Brooke Fraser is such an inspiration. Her supporting artist was also very good, a guy called Cary Brothers. Ghost Town was my favourite out of all the songs he played. Listen to it :)
We were sitting right at the front. Before she played Flags, she explained that she has to write songs because it's her way of processing things, or expressing things that she doesn't feel ready to talk about. And she said that Flags was about the beauty and pain of human life, how overwhelming it is sometimes. I can't remember her exact words, but they hit me so hard, because it felt like I could relate to everything she was saying. Before she started playing, she said "this song is for you." Meaning all of us in the audience. I couldn't actually prevent myself from crying. It made me sad in a happy way though, because it gave me hope. Music is so healing and it's powerful.
