I am two days into my first placement as an occupational therapy student! I am in an orthopaedic ward in a hospital in London. Compared to London, Oxford is a tiny city. Those who see me stumbling around the underground, confused by the Oyster machine cards must realise that I am very much a country bumpkin. I know it is going to take me a while to get used to living in London.

I haven't done much but observe so far, but it is such an experience and I am really enjoying it. I can see why they say placement is the best part of the course. I know that there isn't much I can really do yet in the OT world, so I am very keen to do as much as I can. I keep watching the occupational therapists I am working with, and wondering how I am possibly going to know enough to be qualified in two and a half years.

I feel like there is a lot I have learned already, but I will go into details another time. For now, I need to sleep :)
